The Orient Express from Above (W/T) is a four-part series following the route of the iconic Orient Express service at the height of its fame from London to Istanbul.

The famously luxurious train became a second home for celebrities, politicians, monarchs, and spies as well as inspiring Agatha Christie's famous 'Murder on the Orient Express.' Along the route we will explore the history of the train, chart how Europe has changed in the last 150 years, and come face to face with some of the continent's most iconic trains and railways.

Comparing then and now, our journey will include the inaugural run of Golden Eagle's luxury train service from Paris to Istanbul, which shows that although the original Orient Express might be gone, the luxury train travel it pioneered is still very much still a feature of Europe.
